Oh, Jesus

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is coming to the big screen!

I know that these stories are Bible-based, (and therefore somewhat suspect) but come now, we must admit that LOTR is also somewhat Christian (or maybe pre-Christian...). Also, having re-read Madeline L'Engle's Wrinkle in Time stories recently, I can also vouch for a distinctively Jesus flavored theme.

Besides, my frothy audience is no doubt aware of my somewhat convoluted relationship to Jesus.

Heroes and Martyrs. Powerful stuff.

An interesting side note: JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis had more in common that just going by their initials. They were apparently good friends, who wrote their respective tales during the same time period -- clearly a case of needing some faith in a time of unspeakable horror -- and they both employed the same illustrator.
